I think it's still early enough to talk about new year's chess resolutions.  Here's my first: I want to win a game in an actual tournament against somebody above the age of 15.   Smiley

Well, then stop playing in scholastic tournaments.  Grin Just kidding. Maybe setting up an annual tournament schedule would help. I know that your job limits your participation in tournaments, but playing in the Chicago Open (a seven-rounder) at the end of May and in the State Championships in October would make your goal easy to accomplish.  Wink

As for my own chess goals for 2010, I would like the following:

1. Get better at endgames,
2. play again this year in the Chicago Open and finish with a minimum score of 5.5 out of 7,
3. understand better the White side of the English in the Reversed Dragon set up.

I plan to play in at least three tournaments this year (Chicago Open [late May] and the IN State Championships [October] plus one or two more in between) and hope to raise my USCF rating at least 100 points. We'll see. Huh
